GIBBIFLORA 'Crispata' Baker, 1869
Synonyms :
Cotyledon gibbiflora var. crispata Baker (1869)
Echeveria gibbiflora var. crispata Hort.
E. 'Wavy-leaf' Walther (1972)
Description by Baker in Saunders's Refugium Botanicum 1: 65, Feb. 1869 :
"Like the last [E. gibbiflora var. metallica], but the well-developed leaves scarcely longer than broad, and the margin considerably crisped."
“Crisped” means curled as in parsley leaves. So very obviously the plants in circulation as E. gibbiflora ‘Crispata’ are not correctly named, the right “Crispata” has yet to show itself.
