Distribution : Central Asia (Pamir and Alai regions), north, central and east Afghanistan, north-west Pakistan (Chitral, Mt. Tirich Mir), stony slopes among shrubs, on rocks, (1750-) 2100 - 3600 m.

Description (according to H. 't Hart & V. V. Byalt in IHSP, 2003) :

Rhizome very short or with many subfascicular long slender often branching roots, 1 - 1.5 mm diameter.

Leaves linear, to 2.5 mm, ± 1 mm wide.

Inflorescences : Flowering branches 1 - 3, 15 - 25 cm, inflorescences corymbose, dense, with short branches, to 1.5 cm diameter, pedicels 0 - 2 mm.

Flowers 6-merous (rarely 5-merous), sepals (sub-) obtuse, 2 - 3 mm, corolla 8 - 10 (-12) mm long, petals 3.5 - 4.5 mm, pale violet, fruit 7 - 9 mm, semi-erect.

Flowering time : May to July.
