PARAGUAYENSE ssp. BERNALENSE Kimnach & Moran, 1986
Synonym : Byrnesia bernalensis (Kimnach & Moran) Heath (1994)
Distribution : Mexico (Tamaulipas); north-exposed porphyric rocks, 700 – 800 m; only knows from the type locality.
Differs from ssp. paraguayense :
Smaller in all parts; stems 5 – 6 mm in diameter.
Rosettes 2,5 – 6 cm in diameter.
Leaves 2,5 – 3,5 x 1 – 1,6 cm, yellowish or greenish-cream.
Flowers : Corolla 11 – 15 mm in diameter, petals 2,5 – 3 mm broad, tube 2,5 – 3 mm broad, pure white or upper face with 1 – 2 faint blotches near the margins.
