Distribution : Japan (Northern and central Honshu).
Description (by H.Ohba IHSP, 2003) :
Rootstock present.
Flowering stems ascending, 10 - 25 cm, tinged with dull reddish-purple.
Leaves alternate (or rarely opposite), ovate to ovate-round, 2.5 - 4.5 x 1.5 - 3 cm, tinged with reddish-purple, tip obtuse, base attenuate and petiole-like, margins undulate or sparsely lowly crenate.
Inflorescences corymb-like, globose.
Flowers : Sepals triangular-ovate, ± 1 mm, petals pale yellowish-green, broadly elliptic, ± 3.5 mm, anthers orangish-red.
Flowering time : September to October.
Cytology : 2n = 24 (Uhl & Moran 1972)
