Description :

Dwarf, bushy, perennial plant, stem and leaves glabrous, inflorescence slightly glandular hairy.

Stems cylindric, upright, 5 - 10 cm tall, 4 - 5 mm in diameter, young stems slightly reddish, glabrous or glabrescent.

Leaves opposite-decussate or ± irregularly arranged, forming a rosette at top of the stems, lanceolate to ovate-lanceolate, strongly spoon-shaped, apex obtuse, base attenuate, 8 - 20 x 5 - 6 mm, broadest above the middle, glabrous, fleshy, very thick, olive-green, margins entire or slightly crenulate,  brownish-red, subpetiolate, petiole 5 - 7 mm long, attenuate, 2 mm thick at base, 3.5 mm at the top.

Flowering branches 3 - 6 cm long, leaves irregularly spaced, peduncle cylindric, 15 - 20 mm long.

Inflorescences terminal, upright, biparous few-flowered cymes, bracts similar to the leaves, very thick and fleshy, 1 - 2 mm long, glabrous or slightly glandular, pedicels 4 - 7 mm long, glabrous or with some glands.

Flowers upright, 8 - 10 mm long, pale cream, glabrous or glabrescent except the calyx which is distinctly but not densely glanduliferous, fleshy, tube very short : 0.7 - 0.8 mm, sepals ovate, obtuse, 2 - 2.5 mm long, very thick, appressed at the corolla which is 8 - 9 mm long, glabrous, and has a complex structure : It consists of two very different parts; lower part a flattened sphere, ± 6 mm across and 4 mm high,  upper part a ± cylindric tube, quadrangular in diameter, ± 4mm high and ± 4 mm in diameter, very thick and fleshy, lobes ovate, obtuse, 2 - 2.5 mm long, thick, yellowish, upright, stiff.
