Distribution : SW Turkey; limestone and metamorphic rocks, 1250 - 2400 m.

 

Description (according to 't Hart, Bleij & Zonneveld in IHSP, 2003) :

Rosettes 2 - 9 cm in diameter.

Stolons 2 - 5 cm.

Leaves oblong-spatulate, shortly acuminate, pale green, with purple tip, 30 - 50 (-85) x 10 - 18 mm.

Flowering branches 12 - 45 cm, cauline leaves oblong-lanceolate, long acuminate, shorter than in the rosettes.

Inflorescences long branched cymes with up to 135 flowers, pedicels thick, 3 - 15 mm.

Flowers 13- to 15- merous, 18 - 22 mm in diameter, sepals connate for up to 1.5 mm, triangular, acuminate, green, 4 - 5 mm, petals linear-lanceolate, carinate, purple ventrally, green dorsally, 8 - 10 x 2 - 2.5 mm, filaments triangular to subulate, dark purple, anthers yellow, glabrous.

Closely allied to S. gillianii.
